I am a former elementary teacher who pivoted into the mental health field. I love to crochet, create art and write.
Theoretical Orientation
I am skilled with theoretical and practical skills and use a person-centered approach to counseling. As a person-centered therapist, I provide a safe space and a non-judgmental space for you to heal. Some of the therapeutic approaches and modalities I incorporate into my counseling sessions include:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Specialty
I am trained in Brainspotting, a treatment that uses an individual’s field of vision to process challenging emotions and unprocessed trauma.
Spiritual Integration
I believe that humans are fallible (James 3:2); we have the capacity to make the choice to heal (Matthew 22:37); we can experience redemption (Ephesians 1:7-8). My goal is to hold space with you in the counseling room through empathetic and reflective listening as you explore your inner thoughts and emotions to come to a clearer understanding of yourself and the world around you. Through this collaborative processing of human connection in the counseling room, healing takes place.
